Four paintings by François Flameng showing various aspects of the war in France. Drawings are: 1) "Écossais revenant du combat (Juillet 1916)", showing British soldiers marching and carrying supplies, 2) "L’Église d’Albert", showing two boys carrying supplies near a bombed church, 3) "Le cimetière de Fricourt" showing the destruction of a cemetery, and 4) "Campement de la Brigade de Cavalerie canadienne du général S…" showing a group of soldiers in a camp. Illustrations are all signed François Flameng and dated 1916. From Croquis de Guerre par François Flameng, an edition of the magazine L'Illustration, [1916?].
