Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series consists of letters, postcards, and radiograms from 1926 to 1977 from Ch’en’s friends, family, students, colleagues, publishers, and the Republic of China government, as well as Ch’en’s correspondence drafts. Ch’en kept in contact with Chinese scholars such as Hu Shih, Fu Ssu-nien, Lin Yutang, and Chiang Mon-lin to discuss academic issues, education methods, and contemporary political situations. Ch’en also corresponded with students such as Chu Wen-djang (朱文長) and Laurence (Larry) G. Thompson (譚維理) who asked for Ch’en’s advice on their research. This series also includes H. M. Loh (羅孝明)’s letters studying Su Manshu (蘇曼殊), and C. N. Laird’s correspondence about his life experience at Canton Christian College.

本件為陳受頤任教於嶺南大學時的學生賴義輝所寄之信函,內容為感謝老師的諸多幫助。

This letter is from Ch'en Shou-yi's student in Lingnan University, Lai Yihui. Ch'en helped Lai to get admission to study in the U.S. In this letter Lai expressed his gratitude.
