General

Mary Sinclair flew the Atlantic Clipper, a Boeing B-134, from Marseilles to New York on July 10 1939, on the first scheduled westward-bound Transatlantic passenger flight. In this first album she records all aspects of the flight: the plane taxiing on the water at Marseilles, the pilot's cockpit, the chart table, radio controls, galley, sleeping berths, dining room, and more. She also took photographs of Captain William Winston, the crew, and other passengers. This volume also includes images from her return flight aboard the clipper from New Brunswick to Foynes, Ireland. Signed receipt from Zaehnsdorf and newspaper clipping laid in (separated, placed in BOx 6: Folder 1).
