Physical Description

5" x 8.5" oblong octavo containing 77 gelatin silver prints measuring approximately 5.5" x 4". Each photograph neatly captioned in green ink by Mary Sinclair. Bould in full contemporary green morocco by Zaehnsdorf, with inner gilt dentelles and board edges.

General

This volume contains photos taken during Sinclair's other flights over the United States and the Caribbean. From the time of her arrival in the United States in July 1939 and her return to Ireland in September, she toured the U.S. by air. Included are 10 aerial photographs of New York City. She then flew to Wahington D.C., Charleston, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach, Miami, Havana, Brownsville, Los Angeles, Nevada (including the Boulder Dam), Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. 50 of the photographs are aerial shots, the other 27 are of airports, planes on the tarmac, and photographs of airplane interiors.
