General
13" x 10" photo album is filled with more than 300 photographs capturing glimpses of the life of Iva M. Reddick (1904-1989) of Huntington Park, the eldest of two sisters and three brothers. Many of the images are associated with the sorority outings of Sigma Tau Beta of Huntington Park, including snapshots of girls in aprons and gloves holding signs that indicate they are initiates of the sorority.
Contents include numerous beach scenes. Several of the beachside photographs dated 1924 are captioned "Fessler's Beach House, Anaheim Landing." This oceanside region of Orange COunty is now known as Seal Beach. The album also contains photographs of the San Gabriel Mission, a glass-bottom boat ride to Catalina Island, and the Los Angeles Union Stock Yards, which were located in Vernon. One page of the album features a newspaper clipping and photographs on the untimely death of the superintendant of the stockyards.
