General

8.5" x 9" brown suede photo album containing 52 original photographs belonging to Haruo "Slim" Tanaka of Los Angeles. Tanaka served as a military intelligence officer with the 43rd Infantry Division in New Georgia and Papua New Guinea.

The majority of the photos are of Tanaka's family and friends. One photograph of note depicts eight Japanese-American men posing on a car with the sign "Evacuee Property." An inscription on the reverse of the photograph identifies the men.

Items laid-in include two letters from the Military Intelligence Service Language School (MISLS) Alumni Group and one 9.5" x 7.5" black & white photograph of passengers on the deck of a ship.
