Scope and Contents of the Collection
The Haskett collection contains family papers, correspondence, photographs, postcards, scrapbooks, slides, blueprints, and ephemera, from 1861 to 1928. The bulk is between 1880 and 1919. Notable holdings include photographs in reproduction by Matthew Brady, George Fiske, and Abel Briquet, letters between William Blair Haskett and his wife Clara while he was stationed at Army bases in California and Arizona in 1918-1919, the diary of John Myers recording his travels between St. Louis and California by train in 1902, and WWI ephemera. The bulk of the collection covers the period from 1880-1920. offers researchers a glimpse into the lives of different generations of one family.
