Scope and Contents of the Collection
The Hauch Playbills Collection contains 186 playbills and programs for theatrical productions in the United States. The theaters most represented are the Ahmanson Theatre, Huntington Hartford Theatre (now the Montalbán) and Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, and the Biltmore Theatre and Shubert Theatre in New York City. Notable performances include Angela Lansbury in “Mame,” Dame Maggie Smith in “Design for Living,” and Bob Fosse’s “Chicago” and “The Act,” directed by Martin Scorcese and starring Liza Minnelli.
