Pismo cliffs, Morro Rock-Bay, Mission Santa Ines, Mission San Luis Rey, Mission Santa Barbara, undated

 File — Box: 8, Folder: 1
Identifier: 2.3

Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

Color prints of various sizes (primarily 3.5 x 3.5 inch or 4 x 6 inch) and corresponding negatives on 35mm or 120 color film. Most folders include both prints and negatives. Hubert Lowman began using a 2 x 2 inch camera in about 1973 and switched to a Minolta 35mm camera in about 1983, largely abandoning the use of the large format 4 x 5 inch camera. Lowman continued to take new photographs of the California Missions and a few other locations for commercial use, but the majority of photographs taken after 1973 were for his own enjoyment. Photographs in this subseries are primarily scenic, but also include family photos and those taken at his Huasna Valley ranch. Folders have been labeled based on original envelopes or best described where unlabeled.
