Ernest Albert Strathmann was born in Maryland in 1906. He earned his undergraduate, master’s, and doctorate degrees at Johns Hopkins University, and in 1932 became an English professor at Pomona College. In 1951, he authored

Abstract
This collection contains materials relating to English professor Ernest Albert Strathmann, created between 1909 and 1990. The collection includes correspondence, typescripts, proofs, and notes relating to Strathmann's book, "Sir Walter Ralegh: A Study in Elizabethan Skepticism." Also included are reproductions of primary sources, articles by Strathmann, and materials relating to his tenure at Pomona College.
