Scope and Content of the Collection

Collection contains typed manuscripts by Edward R. Bowen in order to provide information on water rights and water development in southern California. Materials include two letters, a long memorandum, and an extended report. Memorandum contains a table and report includes tables, maps, and graphs. Date of materials ranges from 1920 to 1942.

Collection contains Edward R. Bowen's memorandum, letters, and a report on the water supply and water rights of various areas in southern California. An employee of the Spring Valley Water Company, Bowen worked as a consulting engineer for water-related enterprises in both southern and northern California. Here, Bowen proposes costs and feasibility of developing water supplies and gives background information, such as water rights, on the water companies already in place within southern California.
