Scope and Contents note From the Series: Grace Rowley was born on May 1, 1887 in Valparaiso, Indiana, but spent the majority of her childhood in Southern California. She received her B.A. from Occidental College, Los Angeles, in 1910, majoring in English and Latin. In 1909, while attending a Y.W.C.A. students' she decided to become a missionary.
