Contains three sections, each giving essays and descriptions about the landscape photographs, the trees and forests of California, and geology of the High Sierra, respectively. Same text as Vischer 2. Includes a poem on California; "Dedication to the Society of California Pioneers"; notes regarding gift of "Vischer's Pictorial of California..." to the society; and "opinion of the press" regarding said gift. No photographs are included in this volume.
