Scope and Contents From the Series: The Sound Recordings Series contains sound recordings of interest to aeronautical history. The oldest recordings are a set of five 78-rpm disks from 1927: two 12-inch disks documenting Charles A. Lindbergh's visit to Washington, DC, on June 11th, including his reception by President Coolidge and his speech before the Press Club; and two 10-inch disks of popular songs and dances written to celebrate Lindbergh and his accomplishments.
