Diedra Greenaway was born and raised in Los Angeles. Diedra earned her BA in Sociology and a post-graduate certification in Gerontology from California State University, Northridge. Annie Wu King was born in 1933 in Nanchang, China. Her mother was an American missionary nurse and her father was a Chinese lung specialist. She moved multiple times in her life due to international conflict including World War II and the Cold War.
