Abstract

Victoria Spoonhunter was born on September 16, 1995 in Bellflower, CA. Victoria was chosen for the Women of Color in Southern California because she is Native American and identifies as different Native groups such as Navajo, Arapaho, Paiute, and Seminole. She is currently a student studying Biochemistry at California Polytechnic University at Pomona with hopes of eventually going into Animal Science and becoming a veterinarian.

Abstract Vanessa Tyson is currently a tenured Assistant Professor at Scripps College in Claremont, California in the Political Science department. As a Black Feminist scholar, she has focused much of her research on issues of race and ethnicity in policy and political processes.
