Scope and Contents
This subseries documents the "Pilgrimage to Deepdene", the 35th Anniversary celebrations of the founding of the Village Press, held at Frederic W. Goudy's house and workshop "Deepdene", at Marlborough, New York. The bulk of the subseries consists of keepsakes given to attendees, composed and printed by Goudy's friends to commemorate the event. These include original poems and reminiscences, as well as settings, by friends and colleagues, of works by Goudy himself. The materials also include the invitation to the celebrations, Goudy's humorous printed response to the invitation, and published accounts of the celebrations.
