Series Scope and Content

From the Series:

This series consists of fabric, ribbon and decorative fringe textile samples owned and received by Olive Percival. It also includes newspaper advertisements showing the pricing of textiles at the time of printing, among other topics. Included are (3) hand-stitched sachets filled with cloves and still fragrant, and misc. identification tags in O.P.’s writing, as well as some miscellaneous correspondence regarding valentines and tags, both in O.P.’s hand and type written, used for an exhibit. A hand decorated box is also included.

The series is arranged chronologically first with those samples that Olive herself described and placed on a display board. Those samples include the type-written sheet made by Olive. They are in boxes 55-58. The next set of samples came with no O.P. description but did have some notation of age and/or provenance, and those are described by the creator of the finding aid and arranged chronologically in box 59 (any errors are the fault of the modern day describer). Finally, there are those samples (Box 60) with no notation of any kind. Again, any errors in descriptive details are the fault of the one creating the finding aid.
