Ivory brocade textile (5) Note in O.P.’s hand: “ 17 March 1930~ Los Angeles; Abby Cromwell Hirschfeld (b. in Providence, R.I.) gave me this brocade, part of the 18th C. wedding gown of Mrs. Fenner, wife of Gov. James Fenner, of Providence ~governor from 1807 to 1811 and later. His great-granddaughter is Sarah Dexter Past Lindsey (of G[?] and, she and, Abby C. H. were school mates. Mrs. L seems to be selling all her heirlooms.” Additional Note in O.P.’s hand: “Fenner wife of Gov. of R.I.”
