In the Pomona CollegeArchives is a nearly complete collection of the publications of printer-designer Andrew Hoyem, Pomona College graduate and founder of the San Francisco fine printing firm, the Arion Press.
Arnold (Matthew) Collection
The Matthew Arnold Collection represents the writings of Matthew Arnold 1822-1888 with 437 volumes of his works, among these all but two first editions of his writings; four autographed letters; biographical and critical items pertaining to this author; and other letters of literary interest. Contributions to journals by and about Arnold are part of the collection. Originally purchased in 1942, the collection has been augmented over the years.

The Arthur Machen Collection, named for Welsh novelist and essayist Arthur Machen 1863-1947, is comprised of thirty-eight autographed letters written by Machen to Paul Jordan Smith 1895-1971 during the years 1919-1947 and 126 volumes by and about Machen. Smith donated the collections in 1958.
