Abstract

A scrapbook collection of items including brochures, newspaper article clippings, photographs, and administrative materials focusing on the annual Claremont Arts Fair. These materials document the events and artists of the 1958, 1959, and 1960 art fairs. Many notable Claremont artists took place in the festivities, either as panel judges or through exhibition of their work including Karl Benjamin, Harrison McIntosh, and Milford Zornes.

The Suzanne Macpherson Papers include correspondence, photographs, periodicals, journals, notebooks, manuscripts, and artifacts documenting Macpherson's experience as an American Red Cross Clubmobile girl during World War II from 1941-1945, and her subsequent travels and career as an author.

Abstract The Marianne Moore (1887-1972) papers include photos, correspondence, articles, writings, and interviews related to the life and work of the American poet. Her cousin, Mary Louise Schneeberger, had a daughter named Paula who attended Scripps and graduated in 1956. That same year, Moore visited the campus in October. The Ellen Clark Revelle Collection includes correspondence of Ellen Clark Revelle, Ellen Browning Scripps, Scripps College alumni and faculty, and family and friends, biographical publications, news clippings, academic work and notes from Revelle’s time at Scripps College, and photographs regarding Revelle’s personal philanthropic endeavors, the Scripps family, and Scripps College.
