Writings and speeches, photographs, correspondence, and printed matter, relating to Joseph S. Marriott's career in the Civil Aeronautics Administration and its predecessor, the Bureau of Air Commerce, with special reference to the states of California, Hawaii, Arizona, and Utah.

This collection contains documents relating to Edwin Clarence Norton, the first Dean of Pomona college. Norton served as Dean from 1893 until his retirement in 1926, but was active at the college since 1888. These papers contain autobiographical materials, speeches, correspondence, and other materials relating to Norton's life and especially his time at Pomona College and in the Claremont area.

The collection comprises scrapbooks, photographs, a family history, and miscellaneous items relating to the lives of Smith Lafayette Russell (1895-1979) and his wife Florence Mildred Dodge (1895-1998), both Pomona College Class of 1917 graduates. In particular, the collection documents academic and social student life at Pomona College from 1913 to 1917.
