The George (1915-2000) and Isabel Whitney (ca. 1915?-2007) House Collection contains materials related to the Whitney House in Upland, California. The Whitneys were some of the first homeowners in Upland and were integral in the civic and community development of the area. George Whitney was also a founding trustee of Pitzer College (1963). A collection of approximately 70 letters with several accompanying photographs, occasional handwritten illustrations, and postcards from Sergeant Wilfred D. Carnes, an Au Sable Forks, New York native to his family while serving in World War II from 1943 until 1945.
